The Project

The goal of this project was to create a political poster series that used typography as a key design element. For the imagery, I decided to pull three focuses of the candidate I chose to be the theme of the posters.

Research and Process

The candidate I chose the create posters for was Cornel West, an independent candidate from the 2024 election. When researching his campaign, it was clear to me that he had very big goals for healthcare, women’s rights and education. I decided to use these goals as my three poster topics. I then brainstormed imagery that would relate to the topics, as well as strong words that I could include to get the viewer to understand what the candidate believed in. For women’s rights, I chose the word CHOICE paired with a pregnant woman’s belly, for healthcare, I chose HEALTH paired with a thermometer, and for education I chose LEARN with a graduation cap.
